Artist's Comments

This is the exhibition peice I've been working so hard on lately n_n I love it! I'm so proud.

The brief was to create something based around a Northumbrian town, i chose Wooler. The pattern on the cloak is influenced heavily by Cup and Ring marks, ancient marks carved into stone.

The cloak is made out of 5 metres of hand batiked, hand dyed unbleached cotton. The hood is mahoosive and it's all lined and everything...not that you can really see because Susan doesn't have a head.

The dress is actually a tablecloth, a simple tube of fabric belted at the waist.

It's on display at the Biscuit Factory in Newcastle along with loads of other awesome designs if you wana go see.

It's so nice to be appreciated for coming up with the idea, and helping with the design..

it's a very traditional looking piece yet with a little modern flair to it, fashion at it's best :3

yeah i know. i was just searchng round randomly and found your photo and i was just like 'hmm..i've seen that' so yah thought i'd comment lol.
